Pupil Premium
The pupil premium is additional funding for schools to support the education of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close any gap between them and their peers.
Schools receive funding for each pupil registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years. Schools have the flexibility to use the pupil premium to address specific needs. At Low Moor, we use the funding to provide targeted interventions, extra resources and additional support to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
By addressing individual needs and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, we aim to narrow the achievement gap and enhance the overall educational experience for all our children. Our Pupil Premium Strategy contains information about the barriers to learning, what actions we have put in place, how we spend our allocation and the impact of these measures.
To ensure that our school receives the additional pupil premium funding, it is essential that parents apply for free school meals if they believe they may be eligible. Parents of children in Reception and key stage 1 who currently receive universal free school meals, should still apply for free school meals in order for school to receive the funding.
